Weekend Post.

Well it's that time again where we all get up turn on the coffee maker and head out for another work week, but before we get ahead of ourselves lets blog shall we?

This weekend was what I like to describe eventful and boring at the same time. TJ was traveling this weekend so there was the boring. The weekends just are not as fun without him around, but the eventful was all the DIY's that I did and then the school work ... oh the school work! Two of my classes are ending soon and it will be a nice weight taken off my sholders!

The recap from this weekend will be short and sweet seeing I would like to save the DIY posts to spread out over time.

So here are some recap photos from the weekend!

I finally got around to gaming these picture frames that I found at home goods.

Found these light up branches at Joann's  for 50% off which is great since I've been searching for these!
Other than that is was a momma and Eve weekend.

Enjoy, and have a blessed week!

Until next time!

Just Because You Leave... Doesn't Mean the World Stops Turning

Today I wasn't going to post because I am planning some DIYs for next week. Although yesterday something hit me.. My old job back in Houston puts out postcards for their marketing campaigns every quarter. They are so fun a quirky and I am so blessed to have been in three!

Well yesterday I saw the latest and to my surprise four people have left since I left! I would have never seen this coming, we were like a family!

Seeing that made me think.. just because I'm not there doesn’t mean that everyone else stops living! It’s a hard thought to grasp! Because it automatically made me want to go home! My grandparents and parents are getting older and my 3 year old nephew whom when I left was wear diapers but now is a big boy and is potty trained. I just can't believe I'm missing out on everyone's lives. I'm sorry this post is so heartfelt but that is why I created this blog. I wanted everyone to know that every wife will have a bad day and so will ever airman, soldier, marine and seaman, when they are away from us. There support systems.

With no one by our sides at times like this we can grow weak but we all need to stick together and know that we have God on our sides and hopefully that person you miss is just a phone call away.

I miss my family I really, really do.

Until next time.

We had a Ball.. Weekend Post

So this past wednesday was the Air Force's 66th Birthday! Happy Birthday USAF! And with a birthday comes a ball!

I'n the words of TJ "Every pretty girl deserves to go to a ball". ( I know its from a movie I just can't remember which one.... hmmm.)

Well on the other hand the weekend was pretty boring. TJ worked, I studied and cleaned the house. We let Eve our now 72 lbs. chocolate lab sleep in our bed and that was an adventure she immedatly laid on my side and put her sweet fac on my pillow and that left me with no bed AT ALL.

She means well and everything was okay until TJ got up and then I woke up and was wide awake! That was 3 am.. I get up at 5:50 for work so lets just say I am tiiired!

With lots of studing in my future this evening and this week this may be the only post I get in.

So until next time..

Holiday Fever and Holiday Shopping.

Does anyone else in the world have a holiday fever like I do? I'm not sure if is because my parents are coming for Thanksgiving or if it is because it is our first holiday season as a married couple. Either way I am holding back urges to go buy and put up our first Christmas Tree.

Now I have always been the person to buy Christmas gifts early it helps to not break the bank come the "Black Friday" or "Green Friday" because everyone goes to charge up those credit cards and empty those bank accounts.

As many of you know my husband travels often and when he is gone that is my prime time to go out and get some things holiday shopping done. I must brag for a moment and say I'm almost done shopping for TJ. Now the fact it is just the two of us we are splurging a bit on our first Christmas as man and wife. The fact we didn't have a wedding shower means lots of useful gifts that we will put to a lot of use.

Well as I ramble on I wanted this post to be my "How to Shop for the Holidays" Post:

So I know many people say wait for the deals! Well darlings the deals are all year round and they are there to bring people in to spend money and save money!

I usually start my shopping in July-ish, this means general gifts are great to go buy!

Another place to check for deals Amazon.com and Ebay.com! You don't have to pay for a membership, items are usually cheaper, I've never had a problem with any of their items, and a lot of the time you can find free shipping!

When you buy gifts at pieces at a time you don't need to charge them, you set aside cash and then sneak it home. I also have been doing this with our Holiday decor. I have a box with the ornaments I plan to use and I’ve been buying them at Hobby lobby for 40% off. I have the Nativity, garland, tree skirt, stocking holders, stockings, filler pieces, a door hanger and more all for almost half off. It's when they start putting out those ads saying hey we have trees and decor is when you need to get in your car and drive!

Hiding gifts may be another thing if your family members have a curious eye. I just wrap them. TJ knows where they are but they are wrapped to perfection. I wrap most of my smaller gifts with brown grocery bags (I'll post the how to later) but its free paper that gets repurposed and then recycled after being ripped to pieces! Plus it gives your tree that rustic look.. which is the theme of ours.

I'm so ready for the holiday season and I hope you are too! It is the season we can rejoice and let our faith grow! It is also our anniversary! We spent an entire month together after a 5 year relationship and thought why spend one more moment apart and we got married the day after Christmas. So most people get two magical days we get three :)

Until next time!

Florida Fun

So the first week of August we went to Florida to see Tj's parents and sister. It was a lot if fun getting to know the family even better, go through the old home videos and especially cook with my mother in law!

We took the earliest flight to Orlando and it was our first time flying with one another regathering than to one another.

When we landed we were off and ready to see his mom and sister! To our surprise his grandfather who lives in Louisiana was there to surprise TJ I had never met him so the fact TJ got to see him ... I cried ... No shame in my game I was so happy for TJ.

We went to his dads office to see him which was great!

We spent most of the time just doing day to day things! I took Jess to her high school and walked her classes with her.

To our surprise his parents gave us two tickets to Universal Orlando. It was awesome we only did Island of Adventure because that's what we wanted to see and it didn't disappoint!

I even got TJ to pose for pictures!
Best part was I we were able to see the Wozarding World of Harry Potter!

I have wanted to see this since it opened! I've never was a Twihard or big intoLlord of the Rings. Harry was my childhood and went well into my adult hood. I enjoyed every second!

The designers of the park did a great job.. Just an outstanding presentation!

We ended the day taking a final picture on the first roller past we rode together the Hulk!

This was the best surprise gift ever! It was so nice to have a break from it all!

There are so many more details from the trip I'd love to cover but it will probably dived up into multiple parts to let's take this as part one.

Until next time!

A Busy Life for this Busy Wife.

I know I have been gone yet again but I will say that I have been busy with School and LIFE!!

TJ and I are going forward like always. I am currently 4 weeks into my college semester hoping to finish by the end of next. I will go on a little break and then be off for my 4 year degree at a school I'm not sure of yet but I have a few in mind. It all depends on where the Air Force sends us.

Speaking of the Air Force... Today is its 66th birthday! Happy Birthday USAF!

The ball is this Friday and I can't wait to post pictures of that! Since TJ and I didn't have a wedding the chance to see him in his blues and myself all done up is a treat!

I will be sure to post more about some past heppenings but until then! Sorry I have been gone the Husband, House, School has me all tied up.

Best
